So I've got a small sound system at home and the right speaker stopped working. So I tried splicing a new aux cable into the speaker wire all mashed together (like an idiot). So I've restripped everything back out but cant figure out what to do.
My speaker wire has a white wire and a black wire within it. The aux cable has just regular copper wire with a white wire in the middle of it.
Is there a way i can splice these together and get sound again?
Black is ALWAYS ground or alt. I don't know the wiring for the speaker but knowing black is ground, I'm assuming you would have to twist together the copper from the aux to the black wire on the speaker then the two white wires (hot) go together be sure not to let them touch if its plugged in or you will get a nasty shock
