I live on the second floor of an apartment complex. Over the past few days, I've been dealing with a cockroach problem.
I've found where they're coming in from (holes in the walls at floor level behind all major appliances) and I've taken the appropriate steps to eliminate them, like using boric acid and sealing all holes and cracks.
I don't have any odor in my apartment, but I have heard that large infestations stink. Out of curiosity, I went to the first floor and had a sniff around.
To my astonishment, the whole ground level wing smelled musty, like wet dog and dirt and old, wet wood. Am I smelling cockroaches downstairs?
Yes, their urine and feces is what your smelling. Get a riddex electronic pest control module, they really work, even though pest control guys say they are useless, these guys need your business, my niece, who is allergic to roach sprays, put one in her apartment and they disappeared in a week even when the apartment next door was totally infested. I haven't seen one in 10 years since I started using them, in my home. My house was always getting roaches from my neighbor when they sprayed I got roaches. the Riddex pest controller stopped them completely. I put one in my bathroom this week to see if they would keep wasp out and they worked.
